Site Supervisor

About the job 

Do you have the ability to coordinate site activities and drive project delivery. We’re looking for a Site Supervisor who leads our on-site teams with confidence—ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality installation works from mobilisation through to completion. 

Location & Hours of Work 

  • NW Total Engineered Solutions, Barrow in Furness 
  • You will be expected to travel to client premises as part of this role 
  • Monday to Thursday, 40 hours per week 7am – 5.30pm 
  • Overtime available during busy periods 

What You’ll Do 

  • Take day-to-day responsibility for supervising site-based teams of welders, fabricators, and mechanical fitters. 
  • Plan and coordinate site activities to ensure work progresses safely, on programme, and to specification. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact on site for clients, contractors, and the project team. 
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and company standards. 
  • Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings. 
  • Carry out inspections and witness points, ensuring work meets quality and drawing requirements. 
  • Report progress, issues, and variations to the Project/Production Manager promptly. 
  • Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to minimise downtime and keep work flowing. 
  • Manage site documentation including permits to work, risk assessments, and method statements. 
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying and escalating site issues and lessons learned. 

What you will need for the role 

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.  
  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety requirements   
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with clients and manage on-site relationships.  
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. 
  • You will be required to undergo and maintain appropriate security clearance for this role.
